Saint Sylvester

New Year's Eve is the last day of the calendar year according to the Gregorian calendar, the evening before New Year's Day, and the seventh day of the Christmas season.
In many countries, it is celebrated with family gatherings, feasting, drinking, various events, and fireworks. In some Christian churches, a vigil ceremony is held on New Year's Eve.
The name "Szilveszter" (New Year's Eve) is derived from the feast day of Pope Sylvester, which is observed by the Catholic Church on this day.
In Hungary, New Year's Eve is not a public holiday.
